How to drag click
Wet or rough fingertip
Grip matters: drag clicking relies on friction between your finger and the button.
Slide across the button
Press lightly and drag your finger down the button. The vibration makes it register many clicks.
Count clicks per drag
We group clicks less than 30 ms apart into one drag and show your best and average drag.
Which mice can drag click?
Drag clicking depends on two things: a button surface with enough grip for your finger to judder across it, and a short debounce time, so the mouse accepts presses that arrive only a few milliseconds apart. Mice with long debounce or optical switches often register far fewer clicks per drag. Rather than trusting a list, test your own mouse here: if it shows no drags at all, your mouse is probably filtering them out.
Drag clicking and your mouse
Drag clicking wears switches and button coatings faster than any other technique, and a worn switch is the main cause of unwanted double clicks.
If your mouse starts clicking twice on its own, run the double click test. Some servers also limit CPS, so check the rules before using drag clicking in competitive play.
What is a good drag click CPS?
Drag clicking gives the highest numbers of any technique, which is why it gets so much attention. On a mouse that suits it, 20 to 30 CPS in short bursts is common, and some players report more. The score depends far more on the mouse than on the player: the same person can get 25 CPS on one mouse and almost nothing on another.
That is why this test also shows clicks per drag. If each drag only produces one or two clicks, your mouse is probably not suited to drag clicking, or the button surface is too smooth or too clean. Changing the angle of your finger and how hard you press usually matters more than speed.
Some servers and competitions limit or ban the technique, and it wears out mouse switches quickly. Treat it as a party trick or a bridging tool, not your everyday click.
