The short answer

There is no official CPS world record. No organisation sets rules or verifies click speed records, so every number you see online is a claim made by a website, a video or a forum post. The figure quoted most often is 14.1 CPS over 10 seconds by Dylan Allred, listed on RecordSetter, a site where users submit their own records.

So what is the highest CPS ever, and who has the fastest CPS by a human? Below we list the claims we could trace, where each one comes from, and how far we would trust it. Last checked: November 2026.

Claimed records by test length

Test Claim Who / where Source How much to trust it
10 seconds 14.1 CPS Dylan Allred RecordSetter Medium: a dedicated record entry, but user-submitted. One tool site calls it Guinness-recognised; we found no Guinness page confirming that.
10 seconds 20+ CPS (Kohi test, no drag clicking) Leaderboard claim cpscount.com Low: no verification shown; contradicts the 14.1 figure.
5 seconds 14.8 CPS "Competitive PvP player" cpstester.tech Low: no name or proof given.
1 second 16 CPS Not named cpstester.tech Low: the same page says verification varies by platform.
1 second 15 CPS Not named clickspeedtester.com Low: stated without a source.
1 second 21 CPS Video YouTube Low: no independent check.
60 seconds 31.5 CPS (phone, two hands, butterfly) 남윤재, October 2026 AREALME world records Medium-high for that site’s own rules: video review is required. Not a general world record.

Claims by clicking technique

Technique Claim Source Our view
Jitter 34 CPS Hypixel forum Unverified forum post.
Jitter 100 CPS YouTube Widely doubted by viewers.
Butterfly 1,051 clicks in 10 s (≈105 CPS) click-battle.com The same page says the figure is widely suspected to be an auto clicker.
Drag 125 CPS YouTube The video title itself ends with a question mark.
Butterfly + drag 614.1 CPS Reddit r/hypixel Far beyond any human finger speed; likely mouse switch chatter or software.

Very high numbers usually come from drag clicking or from a mouse whose switch registers extra clicks on its own. A browser cannot tell those apart from real presses, which is why high-CPS records are so hard to trust.

What CPS is realistic?

cpscount.com suggests these ranges:

4–7

Most people

Normal one-finger clicking.

8–10

Fast regular clicking

Practised players without special techniques.

10–14

Trained jitter clicking

Tiring; hard to hold for 10 seconds.

12–18

Strong butterfly clicking

Depends a lot on the mouse’s debounce time.

30+

Drag clicking or hardware

Usually drag clicking or a switch registering extra clicks.

click-battle.com puts the believable limit for a human finger at around 14–16 CPS.

Why CPS records are hard to verify

Different test sites

Likely cause
Sites start the timer differently and some round scores up.
What to do
Only compare results from the same site and the same duration.

Auto clickers and macros

Likely cause
Software can click perfectly evenly at any speed.
What to do
Look for uneven click timing; our tests flag perfectly even clicks.

Mouse hardware

Likely cause
A worn or low-debounce switch can register two clicks for one press.
What to do
Check the mouse with a double click test before trusting a high score.

No governing body

Likely cause
Nobody sets rules for duration, technique or proof.
What to do
Treat every “world record” as a claim and check who verified it.

CPS world record FAQ

What's the fastest CPS ever recorded?

There is no official record. The most quoted figure is 14.1 CPS over 10 seconds (Dylan Allred, RecordSetter). Much higher claims exist but are unverified.

What is the fastest CPS a human can do?

Believable results for one finger top out around 14–16 CPS. Butterfly clicking can go higher; drag clicking higher still, depending on the mouse.

Is 15 CPS humanly possible?

Yes, for short tests with jitter or butterfly clicking. Holding 15 CPS for 10 seconds is rare.

Is 14 CPS in 1 second good?

Yes. It is a strong burst, though 1 second results always run higher than longer tests.
